Willie Wright

Willie G. Wright age 94 of Gatesville, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 in Temple.

Graveside services with military honors, will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Willie was born on January 7, 1926 in Killeen. He grew and attended school in the Antelope community of Coryell County, now part of Ft. Hood.  He was drafted in the U.S. Army during WWII and was medically discharged in 1946.  He married Billie Jean Turner and she preceded him in death.  He later married Chong Lamp in 2013.  He was a rancher on the Wright Ranch and worked for many years at the N.C.O. Club at Ft. Hood.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Wright in 2017; brothers, D.L. Wright, Wilton Ray Wright, Archie B. Wright, Calvin Lex Wright and Donald Dean Wright.

He is survived by his wife, Chong Lamp-Wright; children, Robert Lamp and Kim Lamp; two grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
