Waylan Landua

Waylan Landua, age 60 of Moody, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

 

Celebration of life services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Crossroads Fellowship, 405 Estates Dr, in Woodway, with Pastors Cyndi Abbe and Jeff Fritscher officiating. The family will receive visitors following services in the sanctuary of the church.

 

Waylan West Landua was born on July 22, 1962 in Hico, Texas.  He went to school in Gatesville and graduated from Gatesville High School in 1980.  In high school, he was active in F.F.A. and the vocational work program, where he worked at Dorsey Small Engine Repair.  After he graduated, he worked briefly at Gear Wrench in Clifton, until beginning a career in telecommunications.  He worked for forty-two years in telecommunications, finishing his career at Astound Broadband as a construction coordinator.  He was a leader and sponsor for Celebrate Recovery at Coryell Community Church in Gatesville.  He became a member of Crossroads Fellowship in 2015.  He met and married the love of his life and soul mate, Susan Miller on April 30, 2016.  At Crossroads Fellowship, he served in various capacities as a greeter, sound and lighting engineer and men’s ministry.  He was a leader in the Men of Courage, men’s community Bible study group and was active in Legacy Outfitter’s.  Waylan had a true servants heart and unconditional love for everyone, his actions demonstrated his faith and love for Christ.  He was a Pit Master and competed in multiple BBQ competitions with his friends and church family and loved fishing on the coast.

 

Waylan is survived by his wife, Susan; parents, Billy and Jan Landua; children, Laurri K. Shaw; Ashley Landua and partner, Natalie; Clayton Landua and wife, Stephanie; Casey Jordan; Brittney Noel and husband, Mark; sister, Cristie Pittman and husband, Kurt; two grandchildren, Kenzleigh Jordan, Kaylor Noel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Waylan’s family requests that memorials be made to the church family that he loved and cherished; Crossroads Fellowship, 405 Estates Dr, Woodway, TX 76712.
