Wanda J Alexander

Wanda Joyce Alexander, age 73, of Oglesby, passed away November 13, 2020 at her residence. A Memorial service is scheduled for 10 AM, Monday, November 30, 2020, at Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby. Wanda was born January 18, 1947 in Lakeview, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Anders Jacobsen and Dessie Behrenwald Jacobsen. Wanda grew up in Michigan and graduated from Iona High School. She was raised on a farm, working with her family. Wanda came to Texas in 1972. She worked at Dyers Restaurant in Gatesville for many years and for TDCJ for 11 years. She also worked as a nurse’s aide and custodian at Gatesville Junior High School. Wanda married James Alexander on November 2, 1972. They have resided in Oglesby since 1976. Along with her husband they delivered papers for the Waco Tribune Herald since 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father; August Schnick. Wanda is survived by her husband; James Alexander, brother; Lynn Schnick, brother-in-law; Jerry Alexander, sisters-in-law; Melba Townsend, Donna Martinez and Janie Matthews, and numerous nieces and nephews, Memorials may be made to The Oglesby Fire Department.
