Tommy Deward Flippen

Tommy Deward Plippen, age 82 of Pattison, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Pastor Charles McKamie officiating. Burial will follow at Murphree Cemetery in Evant. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Tommy was born on July 14, 1944 in Gatesville, Texas to the late Dooley and Isabell Perryman Flippen. He grew up in Evant, where he attended school and was baptized as a young child at Fairview Baptist Church.

Tommy was a hardworking man who devoted much of his life to farming. He was a lifelong farmer but also did custom harvesting work for others throughout Texas.

On August 13, 1960, he married Sharon Harris and together, they made their home in Evant. They enjoyed 56 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in January 2017.

Tommy loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Some of his favorite times were spent at the lake with his family or attending family functions. He also cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; and grandson, Ryan Dailey.

Tommy is survived by his children, Sheryl Perry of Evant, Barbara Dailey and husband Dan of Huntsville, Texas, and Stacy Wayne Flippen of Pattison, Texas; four grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren.
