She attended Chilton ISD where she excelled in basketball and tennis, advancing to state in tennis in 1962 and 1963. They made their home in Oglesby, where they raised their two children, Donna and Randy. She was a longtime member of the Oglesby United Methodist Church.
Shirley was deeply involved in her community. While her children were in school, she was active in Oglesby ISD’s PTO and Booster Club. She also devoted time to fundraising efforts for the Oglesby Fire Department and Oglesby 4H Club. After her children were grown, Shirley began working for Smead Manufacturing, where she remained until her retirement. She loved cooking for her family and especially enjoyed attending her grandson’s sporting events and cheering him on.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; her brother, Carl (Butch) Ender; her sister, Ruby Sykora; and her twin siblings, Angelina and Johnny Ender.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Kramer and husband, Dennis; her son, Randy McClinton and wife, Sheila; her grandson, Ryan McClinton and wife, Dominique; her sister Frances Evans and husband, Gary; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her best friend at the Meadows, Joy Sommerfeld.
Shirley’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Meadows Memory Care Unit for the compassionate care given to their mother, as well as the staff at New Century Hospice. They were truly angels.
