Rudy D. Brannon, age 65 of Gatesville, passed away on the afternoon of October 28, 2021.
A Memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Wells officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
Rudy was born on July 14, 1956 to James and Linda Gibbs Brannon. He grew up and attended school at Arcata, California where he studied wood working and auto shop. Soon after he graduated, he met and married Lorraine Kay Barber from Eureka, California on July 16, 1977. They had two son’s, Christopher and Nicholas.
Rudy was a local truck driver, umpire, and coach for baseball and softball where his team won many local and state tournaments. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping his son Nick be a better football player in high school.
Since his stroke in 2005, Rudy spent his time in different nursing facilities where he never met a stranger. If anyone knew Rudy, they knew he was the Biggest Dallas Cowboys fan and never missed a game.
He was preceded in death by his parents; James Brannon and Linda Spring; wife, Lorraine Kay Brannon; and other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Rudy is survived by his sons, Nicholas Brannon and wife, Jenna, Christopher Brannon and wife, Christina; grandchildren, Adyson, Mikenna, Morgan, Ryan, Ileah, and Steven; sister, Pansy Brannon; cousins, Angela, Bryce, Lane, Richard, Rene, Steve, and Larna.
