Rondy Mack McCall, age 69 of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, in Waco.
The family will plan memorial services at a later date.
Rondy was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1954, to the late Rufus Pleasant McCall and Pauline Crockett McDaniel. Rondy grew up in the Lubbock area and graduated from Bula High School. He attended Texas Tech University where he played football. He was a Red Raider through and through. Rondy attended medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico and later became a respiratory therapist. In his younger years he obtained a pilot’s license and flew single engine aircraft. He enjoyed flying around in the Texas panhandle and Mexico.
Rondy met Kathy Reeder McCall in Spur, Texas and after they married, they made their home in Gatesville. They were married for over 30 years. Rondy worked as a truck driver and traveled all over the United States and Canada. He was an avid musician and was a talented singer and guitar player. Rondy loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathy McCall; brother, Donny McCall; sister, Carolyn Roberts; grandson, Joshua Eli Reeder; and granddaughter, Gracelyn Hope McGehee.
Rondy is survived by his daughter, Marisa McGehee, and husband Joe; sons, Christopher Cagle, Brian Reeder, and wife Amy, Mike Reeder, and wife Tammy; sister, Marilyn Medlin and husband, Dennis; sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
