Robert Frank Braun

Robert Frank Braun, age 74 of Gatesville, passed away on July 30, 2020. The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.

Robert was born on February 26, 1946 in Brenham to the late Eddie Louis and Ida Struck Braun. He attended High School in Rockdale, graduating with the class of 1964. Robert spent six years proudly serving in the United States Navy before being Honorably Discharged. He was employed by multiple companies using skills he developed in the Navy as an electrical engineer including Raytheon, DataPoint, Technicare, Johnson & Johnson, and GE Medical Systems.  Robert travelled the world and resided in several different states including Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky and Texas.  He retired from GE Medical Systems after many years installing medical scan equipment.  Robert loved horses, NASCAR, woodworking, yard work and watching birds visit his many bird feeders.  He found his final home in Gatesville so he could be close to his daughter, son-in-law and grandson. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Valerie Elaine Braun Herod.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Christie Cockrell and husband, Tracy and grandson, Dane of Gatesville; son-in-law Michael Herod and granddaughter, Lacey of Elkhart; sisters, Elaine Braun, of Austin and Lois Noak and husband, Wilbert of Carmine; nieces and a nephew.
