Robert Sherrill Blanchard

Robert Sherrill Blanchard, age 89 of Crawford, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Restland Cemetery, located at 2201 Waco Street in Gatesville, with Pastor Stephen Schmidt officiating.

Born on March 28, 1936, in what is now known as Fort Hood, Robert was the son of the late Robert Lee and Mary Gladys Culp Blanchard. He grew up in Levita and Jonesboro, graduating from Jonesboro High School in 1955. Robert dedicated his life to hard work, working in general construction and more recently serving as the superintendent over many commercial projects. He was a gifted artist who loved drawing western and Native American scenes. On February 22, 1974, he married Marsha Burney. Together they shared 52 years of laughter and adventure.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and infant sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marsha Blanchard; sister, Linda Sue Ament and husband, Wyllis; brother in law, Richard Burney and wife, Louise; children, Michele Garcia and husband, Marty, Ticia Roe, Alisa Smith and husband, John, Amy Maddox and husband, Jodi; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great- great grandchildren; and many nieces, and nephews.
