Rena Gail Rainer

Rena Rainer, age 69 of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at her home.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2025 at King Baptist Church.

Rena Gail Rainer was born March 1, 1956 to the late J.W. and Marjoree Tatum Rainer in Gatesville, Texas. She grew up and attended school in Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1974. She then attended McLennan Community College, earning an associate’s degree in Mental Health Services. Rena went to work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, working as a Correctional Officer at various units around Texas before moving back to Gatesville. She retired from the Alfred D. Hughes Unit with 23 years of service. In her retirement, she enjoyed training service animals including her beloved dog Jake. She was an avid reader, enjoyed going on Disney cruises, and loved spending time with her son, Levi.

Rena was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Levi Rainer; brother, Mack Rainer; and best friend, Beverly Sandhoff.
