Peggy Druscilla Summers was born on June 5, 1941 in Jonesboro, Texas to the late Charlie and Sybil Roach Walsh of Coryell County. She grew up and attended school in Gatesville. She was a lady with the biggest of the big hearts; wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She attended business school in Waco, where she gained secretarial skills as a career. Then, as God arranged it, she met and married the love of her life, Bill Summers in 1961. From there, she took on the most formidable task in life as a homemaker. With the helpful hands of God, Bill, and her extended family, she cared for and raised three loving children in their home outside Copperas Cove. Peggy was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Copperas Cove. She was a community supporter, helping Cub Scout Troop 252 as assistant den mother. She was an ardent supporter of Copperas Cove Bulldog Football, during the 80’s, assisting their Quarterback Club fundraising. She was named “Mamma Bulldog” by the Quarterback Club in 1985. She was also a great cook. After raising her children into young adults, Peggy went back to work at Copperas Cove I.S.D. as a services staffer for almost 10 years. She also assisted secretarial duties for Topsey Water Supply, a rural water supply outside Copperas Cove. She supported her husband with their modest property management business, which included six living units, primarily leased to service members stationed at Fort Hood. Peggy spent her 60’s and early 70’s traveling in RV parks and RV clubs with Bill. They made many lifelong friends from all over the country, who they kept in touch with over the years. In 2017, she moved into Stoney Brook Assisted Living in Copperas Cove. There she made many friends with the residents and staff. She enjoyed living there, playing cards, and dominoes; making new friends and listening to the various musicians who visited and put on quality live shows. Peggy dearly loved the residents and staff at Stoney Brook. Lastly, and above all, she was always an uplifting spirit to anyone who knew her, especially those attending any family functions that included her kids and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Summers and daughter, Amy Summers-Cantu.

She is survived by her sons, James Summers and Scott Summers; three grandchildren, Cheyenne, CJ, and Conrad; and one great-grandchild, Summerlynn.
