Paula Kay McCloud

Paula Kay McCloud, age 68, of Gatesville passed away Friday, December 23, 2022 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 30 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Rev. Wray Nunn officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. The family respectfully requests that if you are able, please consider wearing a mask to the service.

Paula was born September 4, 1954 in Midland, Texas to the late Charles Clayton and Louise Ruth (Kelley) James. She met William D. McCloud in Ft. Worth, Texas and they were married on January 30, 1971. Paula worked for many years for the Co-op driving a bus for special needs students and as a teacher's assistant, eventually retiring after 22 years. She loved working with the children. She also enjoyed camping and going fishing. Paula was a member of Grace Assembly Church in Gatesville.

Paula’s greatest love was her family. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they adored her. She was one of a kind and made everyone feel special. She was especially close to her Uncle Harvey and Aunt Mickie Kelley whom she spent a lot of time with.

Paula’s love and kindness will be greatly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William D. McCloud, Jr.; sisters, Betty L. James and Wanda Jo James; brothers, Baby Boy James and Donald Ray James; and niece, Amy Jo James.

She is survived by the love of her life for the last 53 years, William D. McCloud, Sr.; son, Charles McCloud; daughters, Stacey Sloan, Cassie Beasley, and Katherine Seward; sister, Connie Mann; grandchildren, Stetson McCloud, Charles McCloud, Jr., William McCloud, III, Paige Sanchez, Nick Sanchez, Michelle Stiglitz, and Brianna Pierce; great grandchildren, Aaron and Robert Sanchez and Matthew Wade; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Frank Stiglitz, Jr., Nick Sanchez, Ronnie Carter, James Long, Little Harvey Kelley, and Levi Watson.

The family has requested rather than send flowers, which Paula did not particularly care for, please send donations to the McCloud family.
