Patricia Jean (Lawson) Williams, age 79 of Gatesville, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Restland Cemetery in Gatesville, with Larry McDonald officiating.
Jean was born on February 26, 1947, to the late Ray and Patricia Clark Lawson in Boulder, Colorado. She grew up and attended school in Waco. On November 7, 1971, she married Robert Wayne Williams in Montgomery, Louisiana. During Wayne’s years of service in the Army, Jean and her family had the opportunity to travel to many countries. Along the way, they welcomed two children, Mark and Rebecca.
In 1983, Jean and her family moved to Copperas Cove, where she worked as a school bus driver for the Copperas Cove Independent School District. Jean and Wayne also enjoyed being active members of a square dance group during their years in Copperas Cove.
After moving to Gatesville, Jean began working as a correctional officer at the Intake Facility for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She was also a life member of the Daughters of the Nile, a women’s fraternal organization dedicated to supporting Shriners Children’s care.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Williams; and daughter, Rebecca Williams.
She is survived by her son, Mark Williams; brother, Robert Lawson and wife, Pauline; grandchildren, Tori Williams and Ray Robles; great grandchildren, Livi, Lawson, and London; and nieces, Shannon Coles, and Gina Stutler.
