With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Moore “Granny” on May 25, 2025, at the age of 74. Pat was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose laughter, stubborn spirit, quick wit and love will never be forgotten. A luncheon and gathering will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1 at The Gathering Place on Main, next door to Scott’s Funeral Home. A visitation with family will follow at the same location at 2:00 p.m. Born on October 6, 1950, Patricia was the cherished daughter of the late Helen and Willie Ray Ramsey. Patricia grew up on South Mountain with her brother and sister and many childhood friends. She attended school in Gatesville and worked at Walls Manufacturing and Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where she helped open the first Trustee Camp with Warden Moten. Patricia had many fond memories of her coworkers and all they did together.
Pat’s pride and joy were her grandchildren, and she cherished the time spent with them. She was a fierce competitor in board games - especially Sorry! Pat never held back and took great delight in beating her grandchildren, much to their laughter and dismay. She found joy in the simple things: planting flowers in her flowerbeds, catching a matinee movie, shopping for her grandkids, and doting on the many dogs and cats who shared her home and heart over the years. Her loud, unmistakable laugh filled every room she entered, and her unfiltered wit kept everyone on their toes. Famously, Pat had her own sense of time—so much so that her family joked she would be late to her own funeral. They often told her events started an hour earlier than they did, just to ensure she’d be on time. Above all, Pat brought joy, humor, and love to everyone who knew her. She was a woman who lived on her own terms and left behind countless memories that will continue to bring smiles and laughter for years to come. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her—including her devoted dog, Molly, who was by her side until the end and continues to miss her immensely.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew James Scruggs; and leaves behind a family who loved her dearly.
Pat is survived by her son, Charles Moore, and wife, Rose; daughter, Angela Ashby and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Lauren Migura and husband, Tyler, Katie Kuzenka, Ryan Kuzenka, Mindy Opiela and husband, Tyler, Caitlin Brown and husband, Paul, and Braden Ashby. She was also the great-grandmother of Noah Brown, and she was overjoyed with anticipation for another great-grandchild on the way. She also leaves behind her loving sister, Mary Ann Gann; brother, Donald Ramsey; and nieces and nephews Danny, Cathy, Debbie, and Kelsey.
