Olin Wayne Brown

Olin “Wayne” Brown, 73 of Bristow, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Wray Nunn officiating.

Wayne was born on November 9, 1952, in Marshfield, Missouri to the late Olin Lyman Brown and Dorris Corrine Wynn-Brown. Wayne spent his youth in Marshfield, Missouri, growing up with one sister and three brothers. After graduating from high school and a few “wild years of his youth” Wayne joined the United States Army at age 23, where he served his country for sixteen years. During his time in the service, which he cherished, Wayne completed numerous tours in Germany and served in the Gulf War “Operation Desert Storm” as an Army Platoon Sergeant. He was awarded numerous medals including the National Defense Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Army Commendation Medal. After his military career, Wayne spent the next thirty-two years as a long-haul truck driver. He enjoyed the many sunrises and sunsets this career provided him along with making many “Ole Trucker Friends” over the CB radio.

Wayne is survived by his seven children, Tammy Wahl Cline and husband Gene of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Ivan Hooker of San Antonio, Texas, SSGT Oliver Bucher and wife Alice of Pensacola, Florida, Nancy Mueller of Gatesville, Texas, Capt. Keith Mueller and wife Barbie of Gatesville, Texas, Taffie Brown of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Heather Webster and husband Michael of Rogers, Texas; eighteen grandchildren; sister, Linda Hedges of Eldorado, Kansas; brothers, Marvin Brown and wife Janet of Gentry, Alaska, Charlie Brown and wife Adina of Neosho, Missouri and Carl Brown and wife Karen of Inola, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
