Melissa Ann Knapp

Melissa Knapp, age 59 of Gatesville, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the Mound Cowboy Church Tabernacle with Pastor Bruce Cox officiating.

Melissa Ann Knapp was born in Waco, Texas to Wayne and Amlie Davis Honea. She grew up in Connally, where she completed her education, graduating from Connally High School. After graduation, Melissa began her career as a manager for PMSI Services in Waco before moving to Gatesville, where she served as a clerk in the Coryell County District Clerk’s Office. She married Charles Knapp in 1991 and together they were blessed with two children, Daniel and Jessica. Following Charles’ passing in 2014, Melissa married Montie Greenwood on October 1, 2022. Together, Melissa and Montie enjoyed many adventures, embracing their shared passion for travel that included memorable cruises and trips to the beach. Melissa finished out her career as a paralegal, working for Tarver and Blythe Law Firm in Temple. She was a proud mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also a member of the Mound Cowboy Church.

Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Amlie Ann Honea; husband, Charles Knapp; and brother, Thomas Honea.

She is survived by her loving husband, Montie Greenwood; daughter, Jessica Hartmann and husband, Ryan; son, Daniel Knapp and wife, Roxy; and grandchildren, Alexis Bushong, Raizlynn Hartmann, Mikinley Hartmann, Renny Knapp, Raimey Knapp, Cody Greenwood, Caleb Greenwood, and Peyton Greenwood.
