Mary Frances Clark

Mary Clark, eighty-two of Gatesville, Texas, a beloved daughter, wife, mother and Memaw, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 30, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be on Monday April 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mary Francis Clark was born on August 1, 1943, to the late Edward Williams and Bessie Williams (Greer) in Houston, Texas. She grew up and attended school in Houston and worked at Lane’s Pharmacy. On June 28, 1963, Mary married the love of her life, her sweetheart and best friend, Walter Clark.

Walter and Mary moved to LaMarque, Texas to raise their boys. Mary was a stay-at-home mom until both boys were in school, she then worked at LaMarque ISD in the cafeteria.

In 1981 the family moved to Gatesville, Texas. Mary worked at Coryell Hospital for several years before starting work at TDCJ where she worked for 16+ years before retiring in 1999. Mary enjoyed watching her boys play sports, never missing any events. After retirement, Mary and Walter enjoyed traveling, camping with her brother James and other family members.

After Walter’s passing in 2011, Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She traveled with family members and enjoyed making new friends. She especially loved watching her grandkids and great grandkids activities.

Mary was preceded in her death by husband Walter Clark, her parents, her brother James Williams, her Uncle Wayne Greer, and son in law Wayne Blalock.

She is survived by her sons James Clark and wife, April, John Clark and wife, LaJuhn, daughters, Terri Blalock, Bunny Terrell and husband Steve, eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren.

The Clark family would like to acknowledge Coryell Memorial Hospital, Dr. Bates, and the nursing and respiratory staff for their dedicated care and comfort given to both Mary and all who came.
