Luis Campos Aguilar

Luis Campos Aguilar, age 67 of Coryell City, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Luis and Mary's home, located at 415 County Road 252, Valley Mills, Texas 76689.

Luis was born on November 25, 1958, in Plainview, Texas, to the late Simon and Leonor Campos Aguilar. He attended school in Roscoe, Texas, and graduated from Roscoe High School in 1978. Later that year, on October 28th, he married Mary Galvan in Sweetwater, Texas. They initially made their home in Roscoe and later lived in several communities throughout Texas, before settling in Gatesville in 1985. Luis worked in construction for most of his life. He also worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and Sellers Grain before beginning his career with the Coryell County Road and Bridge Department. After 25 years of dedicated service, he retired as superintendent in 2022.

Luis loved being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Coryell City/Osage Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed organizing benefit events including horseshoe tournaments and barbecues, to help raise money and awareness for different organizations. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife of 47 years, Mary.

Luis was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; his children, Emily Gillmore and fiancé, Jajay Chavez, Luis Aguilar Jr and wife, Tani, and Jennifer Aguilar and husband, Tony Manning; his brothers and sisters, Eddie, Tony, Jimmy, Simon, Bill, Lisa, Norma, and Linda; his grandchildren, Tyler, Ian, Jonathan, Aurelia, Samantha, Sean, Nathan, Abby, and James.
