Loney Clyde Ayres, Sr.

Loney C. Ayres Sr., age 73 of Gatesville, passed away on the evening of January 16, 2021. There are no services scheduled at this time. Loney was born on September 5, 1947 in Gatesville to the late Ed J. Ayres and Geneva Willoughby. He graduated from Pasadena High School in 1965. Loney joined the U.S. Air Force and served two tours in Vietnam as an Airman before being Honorably Discharged. Loney was a truck driver for 34 years and logged over three million miles without an accident. He enjoyed fishing, gambling and a good cup of coffee. Loney and Janet were married in Durant, OK on August 29, 1970. They spent 39 years together before she preceded him in 2009. He was preceded in death by his, wife, Janet; his parents, Ed and Geneva, and brother Eddie. Loney is survived by his sons, Loney C. Ayres Jr., Scott Ayres and wife, Lisa, and Corey Ayres and wife, Alicia; grandchildren, Coltin Garrit Ayres, Landin Tucker Ayres, Austin Tyler Ayres, Conner Ayres, Alexander Ayres, Madison Ayres, Macee Ayres, Nathan Ayres and Haley Scott; sisters, Sharon Driskill and Karen Thibodaux; brother, Ronald Ayres; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
