Lisa McCorkle

Lisa Nicole McCorkle, age 40 of the Mound community, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 7, 2020.

Services for Lisa will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at White Mound Baptist Church, with Rev. Bruce Cox officiating. Private family burial will follow at the Mound Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11th at Scott’s Funeral Home.

Lisa was born on Sept 8, 1979 in Gatesville with her twin sister, Lara.  Even though her earthly body was challenged with severe Cerebral Palsy, she is now made whole. Lisa was the light of our family. She taught us the meaning of unconditional love, compassion, service, and acceptance of others. Lisa was an angel on earth, and her smile would light up a room. Lisa loved to email her family members, listen to books that all of her family would read and record for her to listen to, watch movies, and listen to music. He favorite book was the Children’s Bible and one of her favorite things to do was to send balloons up to Heaven to loved ones. You cannot put to words how much of a special spirit Lisa was. She was truly a blessing in our lives. She has forever changed our lives and our hearts.

On June 2, 1993 Lisa accepted Jesus into her heart at Vacation Bible School at White Mound Baptist Church at age 13. Three years later on that same date, Lisa was Baptized by Bro. Jay Smith and her Dad at our home swimming pool with 45 of her loved ones attending.

Lisa is survived by her parents, Eric & Liz McCorkle of Mound; older sister, Kelli Casey and husband, Patrick of Frisco; twin sister, Lara of Tampa, FL; five nephews; and her grandmothers Pat Gilmer of Gatesville and Elizabeth McCorkle of Mound, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Mound Cemetery Assn., P.O. Box 177, Mound, TX 76558 or White Mound Baptist Church, P.O. Box 103, Mound, TX 76558.
