Linda Kay Riddle Walter was born on March 7, 1949, in Gatesville, to the late Edwin and Frances King Riddle. She grew up in Coryell County and graduated from Oglesby High School in 1966. The summer after her graduation she married the love of her life, Charles Walter at First Baptist Church of Oglesby, by Rev. Jerry Walters, where she was a lifetime member. Soon after, they settled down and began building a family of their own. Together they raised three children, Michael, Lisa, and Laura. Linda enjoyed being able to stay home while her children were young. Throughout her life she had many jobs of service, including Cox’s Department Store, Goldstein Miguel, Texas Highway Department, Hillcrest Baptist Hospital, Gatesville Clinic, McGregor I.S.D., Oglesby I.S.D. and the Housing Authorities of both Oglesby and Moody. She loved children and each Sunday taught a children's class at her church and was often involved with Vacation Bible School and Wednesday night activities. She took great pride in caring for others and placing everyone before herself. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and attending their sporting events. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she ensured that each one of them felt special and loved. She and Charles enjoyed traveling to Hawaii periodically. They also enjoyed many trips with their children and grandchildren including Navarre Beach, Florida, the Oregon coast, Colorado, Mt. Rushmore, Boston, New York City and many places in Texas.
