Kieth Baker, age 52, of Gatesville, passed away on February 5, 2019. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Kieth was born on May 16, 1966 in Gatesville, Texas to the late W.H. and Alwilda Miller Baker. During his teenage years, he lived with his cousin, Clarence and Wanda Baker in Levita, and to this day they consider him their own. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1985 where he played football. After high school, he was a welder and worked on the pipeline in Alaska and Arizona. While in Arizona, he met Sandra Carver and they married on December 1, 1995 in Glendale, Arizona. They moved home to Gatesville and he later started Baker’s Bulldozer Service, dedicating his life to building his business to provide for his family. Kieth was a devoted man of God. Quick to joke and laugh, Kieth had a loving heart, and was always there for his family, friends and community. Kieth also had a deep devotion to his dog Zoie, to whom Sandy refers to as his “other wife”. He was a great cook. He enjoyed doing projects around the house, watching John Wayne westerns, nature documentaries, barbecuing and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents mentioned above and his two siblings; Bud Crane and Paul Miller. Kieth is survived by his adoring wife of 23 years, Sandra Baker; children, Christopher (wife, Ness), Kayla Blanks (husband, Austin), Daniel Scholler (wife, Natalie); beloved sister, Audra Buzzard (husband, Michael), brother John Hewitt, Baker cousins who he considered siblings, extended family and cherished nieces and nephews. He really enjoyed his time with his church family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kieth’s memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Flat, P.O. Box 87 Flat, TX 76526.
