Julia Ann Jones Davidson was born on May 21, 1935 in Childress, Texas to Wallace and Frances Jones. She was raised on a farm with her twin sister Jane and four older brothers. During her sophomore year in high school her family moved to Gatesville, Texas. She graduated from Gatesville High School in 1953, where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen. Soon after graduation, she met the love of her life, David Davidson. They were married on March 27, 1954 at the First Baptist Church of Gatesville. David and Julia resided in Dallas, where they raised their three children, Becky, Bobby and Deanne. Their second child, Laurie Kay, went to heaven at fifteen months of age.

Her faith and family were the focus of her life. She was a long-time member of Park Cities Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School in the youth department and was a member of the Ruth Glaze Bible Study Class. Julia was active in Junior-3-Arts and Bent Tree Garden Club.
