Joyce Ann Hicks Snoddy

Joyce Ann Hicks Snoddy, age 75 of Gatesville passed away Friday, October 17, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Scott’s Funeral Home with James Baize officiating. Interment will follow at Ater Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Joyce was born on January 17, 1950 to the late Thomas and Nadine Russell Hicks. She grew up in Lubbock, Texas and graduated from Coronado High School in 1968. She moved to Gatesville in 1971. After working for several grocery stores in the early 70’s, she began her career with the Gatesville Independent School District, dedicating over 39 years of service before retiring. She made many lifelong friendships along the way. In 1982, she married Rodger Snoddy, and though they later divorced in 2000, she carried forward a life filled with love and family. While she had no children of her own, Joyce embraced the role of being a loving mother and grandmother with open arms.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Tammy Nixon and husband, Matt; granddaughters, Brittany Jennings and husband, Justin, and Abby Wendeborn and partner, Jodi, Lauren Kelley and husband, Kyle; grandsons, Dakota Hancock, Braden Nixon and wife, Brendy, and Justin Nixon; great grandchildren, Gracelyn Jennings, Kyzlee Jennings, Everlee Jennings, Brenly Nixon, Bree Nixon, Brantley Kelley, Hannah Kelley, Raelyn Kelley; sister,  Mary Hicks and her loving cat, Jake.
