Johnnie M. Locklear

 Johnnie M. Locklear, 69, beloved wife, daughter, mother and sister, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 after a long battle with respiratory illness. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville.

Johnnie was born on May 22, 1950 in Goldthwaite, TX and was a long time resident of Bosque County. As countless people over the years can attest, Johnnie never met a stranger and quickly befriended everyone she met. She had a wicked sense of humor, loved jokes and enjoyed visiting with the many acquaintances she had made over the years. She also loved animals, was an avid collector of Mickey and Minnie Mouse memorabilia as well as frog and gnome figurines for her garden.

Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Stevie Phillips; two brothers, Steven Phillips and Roy McCoy; three sisters, Dorothy Mason, Louise Kaleva, Lorena Phillips; and her son-in-law, Zeke Alvarez.

Johnnie is survived by her devoted husband of 27 years, Dennis Locklear; her children and their spouses whom she considered her own, Jeanett and Kurt Jenson, Lorena and Michael Meyers, Kaye and Thomas Corson, Shellie and James Ryals, Stevie Alvarez and David Landry and Jack; brothers, David Phillips, Jesse McCoy; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
