John William Gregory

John William Gregory, age 52 of Gatesville, Texas, passed away February 10, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday February 18, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, Texas with Pastor Sonny Garman officiating. Burial will follow at Gatesville City Cemetery.   The family will receive visitors prior to service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at funeral home. Johnny was born in Meridian, Texas on July 4, 1966 to Thomas Gregory and Dorothy Ann (Kelley) Gregory. Johnny spent the early part of his childhood in Glen Rose, Texas, and later moving to Gatesville. Though he moved a few times, Gatesville was his home.  Johnny also known to many as Nonny or Nonny Bob spent his life working with his dad and brothers in the cedar brakes. He loved doing mechanic work and messing with Vehicles. If you couldn’t find him, he’d be under a hood or under a truck tinkering around day or night. He also loved listening to country music, 80’s rock and loved watching comedy movies.  His favorite song was “My life” by Billy Joel. Though he will be greatly missed, he has been reunited with his baby girls. Johnny was preceded in death by his Dad, Thomas Gregory; Sister LeeAnn Gregory; and daughters Lynsie and Vanessa. John is survived by two children, daughter, Tracey Gregory and his son, Chris Gregory and wife Nicole, all of Gatesville; Mom, Dorothy Ann Gregory of Brownwood; brothers, James Gregory and wife Rebecca, Rocky Gregory and wife Jimmie, all of Brownwood; and Robert Gregory and wife Billinda of Glen Rose; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
