In Loving Memory of Jerry Ray Hoggett

Jerry Ray Hoggett, 76, of Coleman, formerly of Gatesville, passed away early on October 28, 2026. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 16 at Hemmeline Cemetery in Gatesville, Texas.

Jerry was born on January 3, 1950, in Burnet, Texas. Jerry lived a life full of traveling around the countryside behind the wheel of a truck. He loved to ride his motorcycle with his brothers, son, and grandsons. Above all, Jerry loved his family and friends. He never knew a stranger and loved to tell stories of his adventures.

Jerry is survived by his children Melissa Harris of Rising Star, Jarrad Hoggett of Rising Star, Cynthia Hoggett of Coleman, and adopted son Joe Strahm of Gatesville, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Marion Elaine Hoggett; parents, Myrtle Hoggett and W.J. Hoggett; stepson, David Strahm; and siblings, Kenneth Hoggett, Donald Hoggett, and Marilyn Armbrister.

Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness. He will be forever loved and dearly missed by all of those who knew him.
