Jeffrey Adam Miles, age 41, of Mosheim, passed away on June 5, 2024, in Woodway.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Scott's Funeral Home in Gatesville.
Jeffrey was born on January 20, 1983, in Waco, Texas to Larry and Jenny Miles. Throughout childhood, Jeffrey actively participated in the Coryell County 4-H club and excelled in many different events. He was fortunate enough to represent his county 4-H program on the state, national, and international level. His major show accomplishment was winning back-to-back Champion Shorthorn Market Steer (1996 & 1997) at the Houston Livestock Show. While in high school, Jeffrey found his love of long distance running and lettered in Cross Country. Jeffrey graduated with honors from Gatesville High School in 2001. He furthered his education at Texas A&M and Tarleton State University.
In 2008, Jeffrey enlisted in the United States Air Force. He graduated basic training with honors and specialized in weather forecasting, where he was top of the tech class with distinguished honors. Jeffrey served two years with the Air Force. After his time in the military, Jeffrey attended Texas State Technical College, obtaining an Associate of Applied Science degree in Laser-Electro Optics Technology in 2015. Jeffrey's career took him to several different states; however, Mosheim was always his home. Jeffrey had many passions including hunting and fishing with his nephews and nieces, love of the land and cattle, pets, traveling, running, physics and meteorology. Jeffrey had a huge heart and an unwavering quest for knowledge.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his grandparents; Clyde and Margie Stuteville, and Otis and Louise Miles; and loving pets, Rowdy, Hunter, Foxy, Weasel and Spunky.
He is survived by his mother, Jenny Miles; father, Larry Miles and wife Guyann; brother, Wesley Miles; brother, Seth Miles and wife Laura, their children Mason, Heather and Katelyn; sister, Hayley Ingalls and husband Justin, their children John and Jane; step-sister, Melissa Duffy and her son Ryan; step-sister Stephanie Maddox and husband Sean, and their children Ashlyn and Emily. Jeffrey is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, his cat Rascal and dog Charlie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Turnersville Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1180, Gatesville, Texas 76528, or the Animal Shelter & Humane Society of Central Texas, located at 2032 Circle Road, Waco, Texas. 76706.
