Janice Lynn Herring was born on October 8, 1945 to the late Clifford and Hazel Watts Wicker in Gatesville, Texas. At the age of 46, she realized her goal of becoming a teacher and pursued her teaching degree from Mary Hardin Baylor, graduating as Valedictorian of her class in 1991. She then spent 18 years as an elementary gifted and talented teacher for the McGregor School District, retiring in 2010.
Janice loved listening to music and was gifted at playing the piano, guitar, and bass. She and Charles attended many bluegrass festivals with their friends. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, reading and playing 42. She was the official hostess of Sunday afternoon lunches for the family, where lots of special memories were made and laughter shared. Janice was a member of the Cedar Ridge Church of Christ.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Damon and James Wicker.
