Jackie Potter

Jackie Potter, age 72 of Gatesville, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at her home.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wray Nunn officiating.  Interment will follow on Wednesday, August 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

 

Jacquelyn Elaine Potter was born on January 5, 1951 in San Antonio, to the late Burley Lee and Doris Juanita Richardson Sorrell.  She married Charles Leroy Potter and was the wife of a proud U.S. Marine.  They resided in Devine, where she was a bus driver for many years with Natalia I.S.D. until her retirement.  Her husband preceded her in death on May 30, 2013.  She later moved to Gatesville, to be near her daughter and grandchildren.  She then began working again for Gatesville I.S.D. as a bus driver for several years.  Over her years of working, she transported countless children to and from school and was a friend to many.

 

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Summers and nephew, Leslie Tidball.

 

Jackie is survived by her son, Lee Potter and wife, Viola; daughters, Perry Kemmitz and husband, Clint, Calley Juarez and husband, Rudy and Megan Potter; sister, Kathy Mae McCann; brothers, Kim Anthony Sorrell, Michael Sorrell, Derek Sorrell; grandchildren, Richard, Kassandrah, Madison, Bryce, Nickolus, Zach, Kevin, Jennifer, Jackie, R.J., Ryan, Reagan, Reyna; and great grandchildren, Aceton, Cameron, Jocelyn, Keaghan, Raelynn, Harper, Kynzley, Mason and Selena.
