Jack Lam

Jack Lam, age 89 of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019 in Belton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Kurt Fuessel officiating.  Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery.

Jack was born on August 9, 1929 in Harlingen, Texas to the late George Stanley and Ola Blanchard Lam. He grew up in Gatesville, graduating from Gatesville High School.  He married Lavell Williams in 1949.  They resided in Gatesville and Lubbock for many years, until moving back to Gatesville in 1970.  He worked in home construction with his father and brother’s company, G.S. Lam & Son’s, for his entire career until his retirement in the mid 1980’s.  He was a member of Mountain Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavell on March 4, 2015 and a grandson, Curtis Lam April 12, 2014.

He is survived by his sons, Gene Lam and wife, Robbie, Stanly Lam and wife, Florine, Jim Lam and wife, Carla; brother, H.M. Lam; sisters, Cynthia Botkin and husband, Gary; Jeanette Baize; nine grandchildren, Becky Morgan, Amy McGowan, Sarah Lam, Jeff Lam, David Lam, Jessica Wade, Devon Nye, Chelsea Brown, Makayla Brown; numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
