Isidoro "Chilolo" Villagrana, age 69 of Gatesville, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Scott's Funeral Home.
Born in the village of Val Paraiso Zacatecas, Mexico, Isidoro came to the United States at just 16 years old, carrying with him a strong work ethic, a determined spirit, and the dream of building a better life. He proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1996. Isidoro devoted 32 years of service to the City of Gatesville, where he was respected for his dedication, reliability, and willingness to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Known as Lolo or Chilolo, he touched countless lives with his warm smile, friendly nature, and genuine kindness.
Isidoro is survived by his loving girlfriend, Ema Medal; his children, Brandi Rivera, Ricky Villagrana, and Daniel Villagrana; and his cherished grandchildren Kendall Mata, Bubba, Mister, Adi, Catcher, Brenton, Daniel Jr., and Christian Villagrana, as well as RJ, Reanna, Bailey, and Brodie Smith. He is also survived by his aunt Manuela Gallegos and her family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Emilia Villagrana.
Isidoro (Chilolo) found great joy in traveling with Ema, exploring new places, and appreciating the beauty the world has to offer. When he wasn't traveling, he spent his time surrounded by many friends and family; the people he loved most. He especially treasured the days spent out on his son Daniel's land, working, helping, and being part of building a home for future generations. Above all, Isidoro lived a life of love, loyalty, and service. His presence lit up every room he entered, and his memory will forever be carried in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
