Howard Lee White, age 79 of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Turnersville Cemetery with Pastor Lee Kelley officiating.

Howard was born on December 26, 1946, in Lampasas, Texas, to the late Merville “Stump” White and Dorothy Coston White. He grew up and attended school in Temple. Once out of high school, Howard began working in construction, helping build the dam at Stillhouse Hollow Lake. He later worked for the City of Temple Utilities Department as a meter reader.

Howard married Karen Grimes on April 26, 1975, while living in Virginia. Together, Howard and Karen traveled across the country as team truck drivers for Midwestern Distribution for more than 10 years. While living in Toivola, Michigan, he also served as a bus driver. After retiring, they returned to Texas to be closer to family.

Howard was a wonderful, thoughtful, and loyal husband who deeply loved and adored his children. He enjoyed going fishing, spending time with his family, and traveling across the country with his wife, Karen.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his children, Zacchaeus (Zacky) White, and Karla White; his sisters, Ruth White, Dorothy Songer, and Phillys Jones; and his brothers, J.T. White, and Donald White.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Karen White; his daughters, Winnie White and Lola White and husband, Adam Guerra; his sons, Robert White and wife, Heather, and Matthew White; his sister, Clydene Leos; his brother, Lonnie White and wife Suzie; and his grandchildren, Robert White, Emma White, Neveah White, Koby White, and Brandon Guerra.
