Harold Arlen Billman

Harold Billman, age 71 of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Dr. Eric Moffett officiating.  The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the funeral Home.

Harold Arlen Billman was born on January 29, 1953 to the late Monroe and Hilma Carlson Billman in Clifton, Texas.  He grew up and attended school in Clifton, graduating from Clifton High School.  He worked as a truck driver for Chemical Lime in Clifton for most of his career.  He also worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a correctional officer before ultimately retiring from Packless Industries in Waco as a quality and safety inspector.  In 1986, he married Delores Keener, and the couple made their home in Gatesville.  He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, watching the deer, and taking care of his goats, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and two granddaughters, making sure to attend all of their special events.  He was also known for his ability to cook great BBQ.   He was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church and was baptized in the Holy faith alongside his wife and daughter.  

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; son, Trey Thorp; and brother, Charles Billman. 

He is survived by his wife Delores of 38 years, daughter, Tina Uschold and husband Chris; brother, Frank Billman and wife Rita; brother-in-law, Jimmy Evetts; sisters-in-law, Sue Burdett, Sharon Evetts, and Linda Brice; grandchildren, Reese and Riley Uschold; and numerous cousins and other special friends.
