Harold Ray (Willie) Avila

Harold Ray Avila, age 55 of Gatesville, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

He was born on March 12, 1966 in Gatesville, to Mike Avila and Dominga Johnson, whom raised him in the South Mountain community. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1985. After working a short time for TDCJ, he joined the Air Force. He then went on to attend TSTC in Waco, to study and earn a degree in mechanical engineering. He made his home in Bryan and retired from PrideCo Mechanical. Harry, known by everyone as Willie, was a kind, loving, happy, caring and friendly person, who would do anything to help those in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Harry is survived by his parents, Mike Avila and Dominga Johnson; brothers, Cruz Avila and wife, Kim, Frank Avila; sisters, Rachel Bridges, Simona Smith and husband, Jeff, and Lucy Avila; several nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.At his request, no services will be held.
