Gary was born in Gatesville on June 9, 1950, to the late Roy and Dovie Barnard. Gary married Ruby Featherston on January 12, 1970. They made their home in Levita.
Gary is survived by his wife, Ruby Fay Featherston Barnard; daughter, Melissa Salazar; grandchildren, Christopher Mangham, Tiffany Fay Mangham and Anthony Andrew Mangham; and several great grandchildren.
