Florence May Ruff, age 88 of Gatesville, Texas, passed away surrounded by family on August 20, 2026. Family visitation and viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22.

Florence “May” was born on May 12, 1938, in Philadelphia. She raised her family in Maple Shade, New Jersey. May will always be remembered as “Mommom.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Durand Ruff and sisters, Helene Lingle and Dorothy Ridgeway.

May is survived by her children, Pamela Buete and husband, Larry, and Ronald Ruff; grandchildren, Lauren Barker and husband, Charles, Brittany Buete, and husband, Scott Mawer, Dylan Buete and wife, Heidy; and great grandchildren, Juliana Buete, Colton Buete, Henry Mawer, Harrison Mawer, and Helene Mawer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
