Felix Luna Peñaloza

Felix Luna Peñaloza, age 89, of Gatesville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026, surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Iglesia Hispana de Gatesville, with Pastor Ezequiel Casas officiating.

Felix was born on January 14, 1937, to the late Patricio and Marcos Luna Peñaloza in Rancho Agua Zarca, Santa Cruz de Juventino Rosas, México. He grew up in México, working alongside his family on their ranch. On November 27, 1979, he married the love of his life, Monica Rodriguez. The following year, they moved to Gatesville, where they made their home and raised their two children.

Felix began working at Kalyn Siebert on May 25, 1980, where he remained for over 21 years before retiring in 2001. After retirement, Felix enjoyed spending time outdoors and was often seen tending to his yard. A devoted husband and family man, he always took care to ensure his family’s needs were met. He also found joy in sewing, a craft he taught himself, and treasured time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Felix was a man of faith, often found reading his Bible. He was a lifelong member of Iglesia Hispana de Gatesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.

Felix is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Monica Rodriguez Peñaloza; daughter, Lupe Buster and husband Joshua Sr.; son, Robert Peñaloza and wife Amanda Meja; grandchildren, Summer Buster and husband Damon Martin Jr., Joshua Buster Jr. and wife Ashton, and Christian Buster and husband Andrew Burkhard; along with great-grandchildren Lukas Martin, Aleik Buster, Azazel Martin, and Abel Buster.
