Elise' Lee Wright

Elise’ Wright, age 82 of Copperas Cove, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Elise’ Lee Wright was born on January 6, 1944, in Purmela, Texas, to the late Archie S. and Etta Mae Wright. In 1945, her family made their home on FM 116, where her father farmed and ranched. Although Elise’ grew up surrounded by country life, she always had her eye on the big city.

After graduating from high school, Elise’ followed her older sister Pat to Pasadena, Texas, where she attended beauty school. That move marked the beginning of the independent and adventurous life Elise’ would create for herself. She eventually made her way to the Dallas area, where she built a long and successful career styling hair in the White Rock Lake community. Her clients were never simply customers to Elise’. With her outgoing personality and genuine love for people, many became lifelong friends.

Elise’ later earned her real estate license and became an apartment locator in Las Colinas. She found success in her second career as well, forming lasting friendships with bosses, coworkers, and customers along the way.

During the 1980s, Elise’ loved going to the horse races in Hot Springs and Shreveport with her sisters, Pat and Linda. For Elise’, the races were as much a fashion show as they were about the horses—she loved dressing up, watching the horses run, and cutting up with her sisters. After the races, they would enjoy a wonderful dinner and then go dancing, making for some of their most cherished times together.

Elise’ never met a stranger. She had a personality all her own and a natural ability to strike up a conversation and make a friend wherever she went. She was a tireless shopper at Chico’s and loved spending time with her friends over a good Mexican dinner.

After retirement, Elise’ found a love for going to see her friend, David Allen, an Elvis tribute artist, perform. Through these special times, she made many more dear, lifelong friends. She loved to laugh, sing along with her friends to “In the Ghetto,” and enjoy many other Elvis favorites.

Although Elise’ never married or had children, her life was filled with family whom she loved dearly. She shared a particularly close bond with her mother and sisters and treasured her nieces and nephews.

Elise’ was also blessed with many longtime friends. The friendships she made throughout her life were a reflection of who she was: someone who loved people, welcomed conversation, and made connections wherever she went.

In 2024, Elise’ returned home to Gatesville, bringing her life’s journey back to the country, where she resided with her sister until the Lord called her home.

Elise’ was preceded in death by her parents, Archie S. Wright and Etta Mae Wright; her sisters, Maxine Hale, Pat Jetton, and Barbara Darr; and her niece, Patricia Hale.

She is survived by her baby sister, Linda Wright, along with her beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends who will forever carry her memory with them.

Elise’ lived a life filled with personality, laughter, independence, friendship, family, and plenty of sparkle and charm. Those who knew her will remember her style, her love of people, her ability to make friends wherever she went, and the unmistakable presence she brought into a room. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
