Eddy L. Pruett, Sr.

Eddy L. Pruett, Sr., age 67, of Gatesville, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018.  Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Buckhorn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville.Eddy was born on January 19, 1951 in Waco, Texas to the late Alvin and Ruth Thompson Pruett.  He attended school in Mound and surrounding areas.  After high school, Eddy was drafted into the US Air Force.  He was honorably discharged after four years of service.  After his honorable discharge, Eddy went to work driving a truck.  He traveled the country for 27 years before deciding to change professions.  Eddy obtained his Auto Body Degree from Odessa College.  He worked in and around Odessa painting vehicles and heavy equipment.  Eddy moved to Gatesville in 1998.  He worked with his brother and sons remodeling for a short time before going to work for TX-DOT.  Eddy worked for TX-DOT for 17 years before he retired.  Eddy continued to work on cars as one of his hobbies.  He also loved fishing and golfing.  Eddy was a 20 year member of Grace Assembly.  He was also one of the co-founding members and Chaplain for Grace Riders.He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Donahoo; and son, R.C. Pruett.Eddy is survived by his wife, Louisa Pruett; daughters, Brandy Cavitt, Mindy Dalby and husband, Gary, Jamie Dove, and Marissa Harkcom and husband, Charlie; sons, Gaylon Hembree and wife, Amy, and Eddy Pruett II and wife, Christina; sisters, Sandra, Cathy, Kimberly, Tammy, and Sharon; brothers, Richard, Toby, Donnie, and Dickie; 23 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
