Douglas Conner, 77, of Bee House, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Bee House Cemetery.

Douglas was born in Gatesville, Texas on November 19,1948 to Thomas Roy Conner and Evelyn Neely Conner. Douglas grew up on the family ranch, where he learned the value of hard work at an early age. He attended school in Evant and graduated in 1967. A gifted athlete, Douglas enjoyed sports and could often be found racing around in his beloved red 1955 Chevy Bel Air.

In 1969, Douglas married his high school sweetheart, Sherry Creacy, and the two moved to Stephenville to begin their life together and raise a family. He cherished time spent with his family at Lake Proctor, where skiing and tubing behind the jet boat created many wonderful memories. Douglas attended Tarleton State College before beginning a career in law enforcement, where he proudly served as Chief of Police for nearly a decade.

Following his retirement, Douglas returned to Bee House, where he built his home on a hill and continued his lifelong love of ranching. He had a passion for hunting, enjoyed working on farm equipment and automobiles, and was a skilled mechanic who could fix just about anything. He also loved a lively game of dominoes—as long as he was winning!

In 1997, Douglas began facing health challenges that would continue throughout the remainder of his life. He met each obstacle with remarkable courage, strength, and determination. Despite the difficulties he endured, he continued to face life with a positive attitude and an unwavering spirit. His perseverance was an inspiration to those who knew and loved him.

Douglas leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory, including his son, Brent; his daughters, Christie Slaughter (Chris) and Andrea Conner; and his grandchildren, Conner (Jocelyn), Maeson (Hunter), and McKenzie. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Doughlyn, Adleigh, and Ronnie.

He is also survived by his siblings, Gwen Drennan, Bonnie Carhedan, Barbara Walker (Bob), Deborah Fleming (Gary), Renee Bourland (Johnny), and David Conner (Elke).

Douglas will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, his passion for ranching and the outdoors, his mechanical talents, and his determination to meet life's challenges with courage and optimism. The memories he created and the lives he touched will remain in the hearts of his family and friends for years to come.
