Doris Jean Tippit

Doris J. Walker Tippit, age 88 of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 in Gatesville.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Doris was born on January 3, 1931 in Cold Springs, TX, to the late Truman and Clara Faucett Walker.  She grew up in Cold Springs, and graduated from Cold Springs School which is now in Ft. Hood. Doris married Feno Tippit in 1953; she loved to go for rides with Feno site seeing around the country.  Doris never met a stranger. She was a house wife who loved her job.  She also would never let anyone visit and leave hungry; cooking a cheeseburger and a glass of tea at any hour of the day or night, and company was always welcome. She would sit and visit for hours remembering every detail about the conversations.    She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Feno Tippit; and brother, Donald Walker. Doris is survived by her son, Mike Tippit; and grandson, Marty Tippit.
