David Folsom Davidson

David F. Davidson, age 93 of Dallas, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025.

Family graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025 at Mound Cemetery, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Friday at White Mound Baptist Church, with Rev. Bruce Cox officiating.

David Folsom Davidson was born on January 25, 1932, in Mound, Texas to Holice and Ann Folsom Davidson. David graduated from Gatesville High School in 1949 and went on to attend Baylor University. While at Baylor he was active in R.O.T.C. and held the rank of Cadet Lt. Colonel. He was Cadet Commander in summer camp at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona in 1953. He graduated from Baylor in 1954 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree which included a double major in accounting and general business.

On March 27, 1954, David married the love of his life, Julia Ann Jones. They enjoyed 68 years together and had four children: Rebecca Ann, Laurie Kay, Robert David, and Julie Deanne.

After graduating from Baylor, David went to work for Shell Oil Company in Houston before being called into the United States Air Force. While in the service he worked as a Special Agent for the office of Special Investigations. He attained the rank of 1st Lt. David and Julia lived in Tampa and Jacksonville, Florida, and Washington, D.C. Upon completion of his military service in June of 1956, David and Julia moved to Dallas, Texas.

In Dallas, David went to work for J.V. Folsom Co. and eventually became both owner and president. Over the next 50 years he was instrumental in the development of the Folsom Company, becoming one of the leading manufacturer’s rep agencies in the Southwest.

David loved his alma mater, Baylor University, where he served on the business development board. He was honored to be a member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas. He was a longtime member of Park Cities Baptist Church, where he served in a leadership capacity as both a deacon and chairman of the board of deacons.

David had many passions in life which included hunting, cattle ranching, and following the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Playing golf with his buddies at Bent Tree Country Club was probably number one.

His faith and family were the most important to him. He loved the Lord and followed his guidance daily. He was a positive influence in many lives and helped numerous people and organizations in many wonderful ways. He will be dearly missed by his family and those that knew him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Holice and Ann Davidson; wife, Julia Davidson; daughter, Laurie Kay Davidson; grandson, Scott Hayden Pegram; and a sister, Helen Golden.

He is survived by his daughter, Becky Pegram and husband Ronnie; son, Bobby Davidson and wife Christy; daughter, Deanne May and husband Jim; grandchildren, John Pegram and wife Leslie, Todd Pegram and wife Jennifer, Eric May and wife Belinda, Melissa May, Reid Davidson and wife Margaret, Garrett Davidson; and nine great grandchildren.
