David Lee Doyle

David Lee (Crow) Doyle, age 82 of Gatesville, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025.

David was born April 6, 1943 to the late Cleburne and Mary Lee Doyle in Pearl, Texas. He grew up in Pearl and attended school in both Pearl and Evant. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960, spending time in Vietnam before honorably discharging six years later. He also worked as a milkman for a short time but spent most of his life in construction and as a contractor. David spent his later years managing a carwash in Gatesville.

David was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan who loved country music. In his younger days, he would occasionally play the guitar and sing. He also enjoyed mowing and driving his tractor. Affectionately known as “Pop Pop”, David cherished and enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 58 years, Fay; sisters, Beverley Freeman and Anita Boswell; brothers, Bill Doyle and Kennith Doyle; and son James Doyle.

He is survived by his sons, Davy Doyle and wife Jane, Torrey Doyle and wife Shelley, and Justin Doyle and wife Monica; sister, Mary Delacruz; and brother Bob Doyle. David was also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
