Darla Sue McPherson

Darla Sue McPherson, age 35 of Moody, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Scott’s Funeral Home with Minister, David Echols officiating. Interment at Buckhorn Cemetery will follow. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Scott’s Funeral Home.

Darla was born in Temple, Texas to Darron and Stephanie McPherson. She built a meaningful career with Texas A&M College of Medicine, where she served as the Assistant Director of Evaluation and Assessment. Through her work, she supported advancement of medical education and was respected by colleagues for her dedication and professionalism.

Darla had a love for traveling, concerts, and Broadway musicals as well as spending time with family and friends. She embraced opportunities to explore new places and experiences, creating many memories with those she loved along the way.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Susie Pruett; her grandfathers, Jimmy Pruett and Jerry McPherson; and her uncle, Barry McPherson.

Darla is survived by her loving parents, Darron and Stephanie McPherson; her sister, Cortney McPherson; her grandmother, Darlene McPherson; aunts and uncles, Miles McPherson and wife Jami, Darren Pruett and wife Melissa, Justin Pruett and wife Christy; cousins; Kashea and husband RJ, Jaylie and husband Austin, Braylen, Jaxcen, Tyson, JP, Ryan, Kooper, Madyson, Jessica, James, Coleman, Erynne, Taylor, Kolten, Cypress, Rori, Miley, Staci and husband Gordon, Weston, Jennifer and husband Kevin, Kooper, Bailey, Bella, and Keith. She is also survived by her loving extended family, including Kendra and Lynlie Buice, Michelle and Samantha Lightfoot, Marissa, Addie and Koda Sanchez, Bart, Colette and Chandler Lippe, and Kylie, Keaton and Chandler Meyer.

Darla will be remembered for her kindness, her love of life, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
