Daniel Duayne Smith

Daniel Smith, age 66 of Gatesville, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2024 at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Pearl Cemetery.  

Daniel Duayne Smith was born on September 22, 1957 in St. Johns, Newfoundland to the late Oscar and Patricia Smith.  He grew up in a military family, taking up residence in both Florida and Texas.  He attended high school at Fort Walton Beach Florida.  During his adult years, he worked as a sheet metal worker.  His passion was riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, and he frequently took long trips across the country.  He was a proud granddad and always included his granddaughters in his Harley Davidson adventures.  He attended Highway 2 Heaven Biker Church in Gatesville.    

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Jason. 

Daniel is survived by his daughter, Shannon Harmon and husband, Shaun; son, Joshua Smith; sister, Laurie Smith; brothers, Donald Smith and Michael Smith and wife, Lesa; and grandchildren, Keely Thompson, Anna Thompson, Logan and Makenna Harmon; and family.
