Obituary

Curtis Wayne Fevold, 59, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on October 24, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of adventures, accomplishments, and memories that will not soon be forgotten. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Scott's Funeral Home in Gatesville, Texas. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., on the family's land.

Curtis was never someone who was meant to live a small life. After graduating from Gatesville High School, Curtis went on to build a very successful career. For more than 25 years, he worked for Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), where his exceptional dedication and accomplishments earned him numerous awards and recognition. It was a career in which he took tremendous pride. He had an unmatched work ethic and seemingly boundless energy. In fact, Curtis couldn't stand sitting around doing nothing. Even as recently as a month before his passing, he was taking on extra jobs simply to keep himself busy. For Curtis, a full schedule wasn't a burden; it was a way of life.

He worked hard, traveled the world (more than once), and experienced more of life than many people ever dream of. He graduated from Colorado Technical University in 2017 with a Bachelor's of Science in Information Technology. He was living proof that where you start does not determine how far you can go.

And Curtis went far.

But his life was about so much more than professional success. Curtis was full of energy, generosity, curiosity, and an unmistakable enthusiasm for living. He loved adventure, whether that meant traveling somewhere new, setting sail on another cruise, or simply making memories with the people he loved. Wherever his travels took him, Curtis was always eager to explore, discover, and share the experience with others.

Curtis was also incredibly handy and always ready to lend his skills wherever they were needed. He never hesitated to drop everything to help family or anyone else who needed him. Helping others was simply part of who Curtis was, and he gave his time, energy, and talents generously.

Curtis was a deeply loving son, and he shared a particularly special bond with his mother, Donna. Their connection was one of deep affection, understanding, and unwavering love. He cherished her dearly, and the closeness they shared was a beautiful and lasting part of his life.

A die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, Curtis was also fluent in sarcasm, with a distinct sense of humor and a talent for lovingly picking on just about everyone. Nobody was safe from his teasing, especially his nieces and nephews, who absolutely adored him for it. Beneath the sarcasm and playful ribbing was an extraordinarily kind heart.

Curtis never had children of his own, but that was just fine with him. He had his sights set on a much more coveted title: Favorite Funcle (Fun Uncle). And by an overwhelming consensus of his nieces and nephews, he earned it. He wore that title with tremendous pride, delighting in his role as the uncle who could make everyone laugh. He was also the proud godfather to Will and Bridget's children, another title he held as a great honor.

Curtis also cherished his extended family, including many, many loved ones in Oregon and Pennsylvania. Family connections meant a great deal to him, and distance never diminished the affection he held for them.

If Curtis had written his own obituary, it undoubtedly would have been pages long. Not because he would have spent all that time talking about himself, but because he would have insisted on telling a story about every single person who mattered to him. That's just who he was. He had a story for everyone and a place in his heart for all of them.

Curtis wasn't perfect, and he never needed to be. He was wonderfully, unapologetically himself. Perhaps one of the greatest lessons of Curtis's life is that the people who fail to recognize your worth don't get to decide it. He built a life filled with success, adventure, and most of all, love, and he was worthy of it all.

Curtis will be remembered not simply for what he accomplished, but for the life he lived, the love he shared and received, the laughter he inspired, and the memories he leaves behind.

Curtis was born on May 8, 1967, in Great Falls, Montana. His parents are Donna and Kenneth Wright (deceased), Ron and Eileen Fevold (both deceased).

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Ara Mae Sheets, Selmer and Genevieve Fevold, George and Marie Weigart, Willie and Billie Jean Wright, and Norman and Lucy Vroman.

His siblings include Donnie Vroman, Michele Vroman (deceased), Melissa Miles, Will Wright and his wife, Bridget, Thomas Nofziger, Joyce Nofziger, Carl Fevold, Shannon Wright, and Rachel Wright.

Curtis also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, including cherished extended family in Oregon and Pennsylvania.
