Corey Heath Jones

Corey Heath Jones, age 46, of Jonesboro, passed away August 7, 2019 due to complications from a recent illness.  Services are scheduled for 3 PM Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 3 PM on Saturday. Corey was born August 23, 1972 in Waco, Texas to Oscar and Phillis White Jones.   Corey graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1991.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and getting together with family and friends to play 42 or Acey Ducy.   He lived all his life in Jonesboro.  Corey was an avid Cowboys fan.  He worked for Waste Management for 12 years and most recently employed by the City of Gatesville for the last nine years. He was preceded in death by brothers; Vernon Jones and Glen White.  Corey is survived by his parents; Oscar and Phillis Jones, brother; Noble Jones, nephew; Joshua Jones and wife Kara, great nephew; Josh Jones, best friend and sister; Karen Mengelkamp, Fiance`; Rose Mary Nelson, her children; Derek Nelson, Ty Nelson and Dakota Ashby, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
