Connie Lee Woodson passed away on March 23, 2026, in the comfort of her home with her loving husband Gary. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, at Jonesboro Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Varga Chapel Cemetery in Richland Springs. The family will receive visitors at Scott’s Funeral Home from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, the evening prior to the service. The service will be livestreamed on the Jonesboro Baptist Church Facebook page.
Connie was born on March 22, 1960, in Seminole, Texas to the late Henderson Red Miller and Floella Dean Miller Lightsey. Connie attended school in Big Lake, Texas and later moved to Jonesboro where she graduated in 1978. Connie was a cheerleader in 7th-12th grade serving as head cheerleader in her senior year. Connie graduated from MCC in 1981 and met her husband, Gary while attending Parkview Baptist Church. Gary and Connie married on June 13, 1981, and they made Waco their home. While at MCC, Connie worked in the insurance industry in the Alico Building.
Connie and Gary started two family businesses in Waco: Woodson Office Furniture and Connie Office Furniture, Inc., serving the Waco community for over 40 years. Connie and Gary brought the Scriptorium Biblical Heritage Museum to Waco in 2012, providing the local community history of the Hebrew Nation with scrolls and other Hebrew items. Connie and Gary loved to travel, including adventures to the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, and Serbia. Connie was a great scuba diver and enjoyed spending time in the water.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jeff Miller; niece, Julie Miller Hinote and her loving dog, Lady Pandy Que (Pandy).
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Gary Woodson; brother, Ronnie Miller; nephews, Tim Miller, and Joshua Miller; and five great nieces.
