Christopher Douglas Hollingsworth

Christopher Douglas Hollingsworth went to meet his “Papa C” for a game of hoops on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery for immediate and extended family. The family will receive visitors 1 hour prior to the services. Christopher was born on September 17, 1986 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas. He attended school in Gatesville where he played basketball, football and baseball. Christopher graduated in 2005 as an Alumni from Gatesville High School. Christopher’s passions were cars, music and technology. He could fix almost anything. If it had a motor in it, Christopher could probably fix it. He was definitely the “go-to” IT guy for those around him. Christopher also had a very special gift…and that was loving and caring for animals, big and small. He could possibly be considered a true animal whisperer. That gift also transcended into his love for people. Christopher was a giver! A giver of his time, a giver of his heart, and a giver of the shirt off his back if he thought that’s what someone needed. Christopher was such a selfless giver and that endeared him to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. But, none of that compares to the love and admiration he had for his brother and sister. Christopher would beam with pride telling you about Ben and Rady. He would smile so big when talking about their accomplishments, how much they had grown, and to hear him laugh when he told funny stories about them was so completely infectious. The way Christopher loved so deeply was a true testament of how Shelli and Mike raised all three of their kids; which is to treat others with kindness, love and compassion. He was preceded in death by his grandfather; Charles E. Hollingsworth, his great grandparents; James Wallace (Sandy) and Cora Faye Rhoads, Refugio and Nicholas Guzman. Christopher is survived by his parents; Mike and Shelli, his brother; Ben and sister; Rady, his grandmother; Patsy Hollingsworth and maternal grandparents; Mary and Earl Carpenter, along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
